Cybertopia is a documentary about the digital revolution from the perspective of the hackers, techno-philosophers and creative futurists who are shaping the future in Silicon Valley. Having lived in Silicon Valley and many other places around the world, I feel Silicon Valley is really a metaphor for a new kind of global intelligentsia that is hyper-curious and has the digital skills to use technology to build new things that have value.
We now live in an age where anyone can learn these digital skills and use their creative talents to make a positive impact in the world. In the next decade, I believe we are going to see a synthesis of machine intelligence and creative human intelligence that will revolutionize the way we work.
To be ready for the opportunities and challenges of this new world, education will need to focus on developing our creative and emotional intelligence, simply because more and more of the routine, algorithmic tasks will be left to the machines.
